CYS offers training to become a certified teen babysitter following the 4-H Babysitter Curriculum. Military family members with teens in 7th grade and older who wish to raise and market themselves for babysitting jobs may be placed on the babysitter referral list with parental permission.
Military parents needing a caregiver must complete a request form available at the Parent Center Service. After parents complete the required form, they receive a list of caregiver information based on specified requirements (location, availability, etc.). After receiving the list, parents can make arrangements with the babysitter directly. All arrangements and costs for care are between parents and carers.
CYS offers a childcare referral service to registered families. Babysitters on the referral list are 13 years of age or older, have certification in first aid and CPR, and have been trained in:

Children on site! (KOS)- Provide on-site childcare for your unit/organization's meeting/event in a room adjacent to the meeting/event. CYS provides quality childcare providers to watch children aged 6 weeks to 12 years on site. Your unit pays for this service through Parent Center Services. KOS is not available at all locations on post. For information, a referral or to schedule an event, contact Parent and Outreach Services.
Volunteer Child Care in Setting Unit (VCCUS) -CYS assists the unit in training volunteers to provide child care for the unit's functions.
VCCUS is a volunteer-based childcare program that allows on-site care during meetings and events hosted by military units, Army Community Service (ACS) or family and morale, welfare and recreation groups. Through VCCUS, Parent and Outreach Services provides training to volunteers from military units or organizations. The program is designed to allow the exchange of free, temporary child care services during unit sessions when demand is high or child development center services are unavailable. Parents and guardians of children at VCCUS must attend the same program and remain on site while the children are in voluntary care.
Sometimes, families have to be placed on a waiting list for child care if services are not available. Wait times may vary for each program and age category. Call Parent Center Services for more information.
